We are the official logistics provider for several key events and industry bodies in the marine sport, leisure and events market. These partnerships have been forged by proving our service capabilities and building mutual trust to create long standing relationships.
We focus on using these partnerships to drive GAC Pindar’s freight forwarding and logistics business to reach a wider audience and provide the best in logistics with maximum efficiency and value for money for all.
World Sailing
World Sailing, sailing’s world governing body, is responsible for the promotion and regulation of the sport internationally, including the its management at Olympic and Paralympic level and sanctioning major events such as the America’s Cup, SailGP and The Ocean Race.
In 2017, GAC Pindar became the official marine logistics and freight partner to World Sailing with a partnership goal to reduce costs and environmental impact of logistics in the shipping of equipment to events for World Sailing, Member National Authorities (MNAs), Class Associations and individual sailors.
The partnership further impacts and supports World Sailing’s mission to reinstate sailing to the Paralympic Sports Programme.
GC32 Racing Tour
Created in 2014, the GC32 Racing Tour sees owner-drivers and commercially financed professional team compete in foiling catamarans. GAC Pindar was appointed its official shipping and logistics provider in early 2019 having successfully shipped the infrastructure, yachts and equipment for events since 2015. We provide a cost-effective solution for the event and competing teams, delivering freight to the many tour locations across Southern Europe and beyond.
The Ocean Race
Since 1973, The Ocean Race has arguably been the world’s toughest professional sporting team challenge. Known as sailing’s Everest, the 13 previous editions, from the inaugural Whitbread Round the World Race to the latest Volvo Ocean Race in 2017-18, has seen fully crewed yachts go head to head in a round-the-world multi-staged event.
GAC Pindar is trusted with meeting the logistics requirements of this iconic event having built up a solid long-term relationship as official logistics provider for the previous two editions, transporting the event infrastructure, broadcast and support equipment to host cities across six continents. Beyond freight forwarding, we provide site management services and key personnel on-the-ground to ensure smooth operations and continuity across the nine stopover ports. The latest edition of The Ocean Race will start in Alicante, Spain in the autumn of 2022, finishing in Genoa, Italy in early summer, 2023.
World Yacht Rally
The newly launched World Yacht Rally is a 30-month round-the-world sailing challenge for cruising enthusiasts. As the official supplier of marine logistics and freight services, GAC Pindar will ship event containers to designated maintenance stops on a route starting with a prologue from Alicante.
This first leg will go from Alicante to Lanzarote, after which participants will follow a route taking in the Caribbean, the Galapagos Islands, Marquesas, Fiji, Auckland, Sydney, Kai Islands, Singapore, Cocos Keeling Islands, Seychelles, Cape Town, Rio de Janeiro, Natal, St. Lucia and the Azores before finishing in Lisbon.
Our control tower team based in the UK will work with the 300+ strong network of GAC offices worldwide to manage these shipments and any urgent airfreight requirements, as well as customs clearance & immigration services, crew safety training and Panama Canal transits for the fleet of +50ft yachts taking part.
Yacht Racing Forum
The leading annual conference for sailing and yacht racing, the Yacht Racing Forum gathers together movers and shakers from across the industry to present ideas and developments.
GAC Pindar has supported this influential platform since 2017, taking part in key panel discussions and providing further opportunities for delegate discussions beyond the conference centre.
Foiling Week™
Foiling Week™ is the first and only global event dedicated to the amazingly fast foiling boats, their sailors, designers and builders. It is a not-for-profit sport and cultural association with a scope to promote foiling and make it more safe, accessible and sustainable. The aim is to provide the foiling community with the network and resources to grow within the sport of sailing, to encourage cooperation and drive change. GAC Pindar has supported Foiling Week by providing logistics services and support since 2014.
